Hey! Yes, the main word is optimal. I launched my node on a completely different hardware than indicated in the recommendations (Downloads — Concordium documentation)
I think that for the first time this is enough, but when the blockchain starts to work for real, with tens or hundreds of transactions per second - will this be enough? Apparently, the team indicated the characteristics just with a margin for the future. It would be interesting to hear.
I have to refer you to the system requirements provided in the documentation at Downloads — Concordium documentation, which @PabloZ was kind enough to also mention above. At this time we do not have any additional information regarding the hardware that would be optimal, than what is mentioned on that page.
